Professor Gelpe began her legal career as an attorney in the Office of General Counsel of EPA. Later, she served seven years on the Board of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. She has been a law professor since 1975 and currently divides her time between the U.S. and Israel. In Israel she holds an appointment of Professor Emeritus at Netanya Academic College, where she established and led the Center for Environmental Law. Professor Gelpe holds A.B. from Barnard College of Columbia University, a M.Sc. in Biology from Ohio State University, and a J.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington. Professor Gelpe is particularly interested in Spindle as a way of providing a high quality legal research tool to all practicing lawyers. William Mitchell College of Law has long been committed to having its faculty work to enrich the practice of law, and she sees her work on Spindle as firmly within this tradition.
